    Two straps are mounted on the plate, one that is carried over the neck of the user, and one that is fastened around the waist. This means that the distance between the sole of the patient's foot and the user's abdomen is only a few centimeters, which is important for the ergonomic properties of the device. The plate is intended to be fixed to the user's abdomen using the straps and pressure from the patient's foot. The batteries that drive the laser beams can also be replaced by opening a waterproof battery cover with the help of screws. Disinfection in healthcare usually takes place through alcohol washing. In order to be disinfected, the construction must be waterproof. The two laser frames are turned on by means of a switch for each light source.
    During the casting procedure, the position of the foot is repeatedly checked against the lines generated by the laser beams along the patient's legs, thus facilitating a correct casting of the lower leg and foot.
